Classic Beef Burgers |
|   |
All kids love burgers. Instead of bringing them to the nearest fast food joint all the time, why not make burgers on your own?
Serves: 4 people |
375 g minced steak |
1/2 onion (finely chopped) |
1/2 cup breadcrumbs |
1 egg (slightly beaten) |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1 tablespoon tomato puree |
4 hamburger buns, split in half |
8 slices cucumber |
2 tomatoes (sliced) |
freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste |
lettuce leaves |
cheddar cheese slices |
tomato ketchup |
mayonnaise |
| 1. |
Combine mince, onion, breadcrumbs, worcestershire sauce, tomato puree, black pepper and salt together. |
| 2. |
Pour in the egg. Mix well. |
| 3. |
Bind all the ingredients to a large patty. |
| 4. |
Wet hands and shape the mixture into 4 to 6 patties. Cook patties in a non-stick pan for 5 to 6 minutes. |
| 5. |
To assemble burgers, toast the buns and spread with mayonnaise. |
| 6. |
On the bottom half of each bun, place lettuce, cheese, patty, cucumber and tomato. Top with the remaining half bun. Serve. |
