Palmer’s
have developed a range of Cocoa Butter Formula products
that have been specifically developed to meet the skin
care needs of mothers and the sensitive skin of babies.
Expectant
mothers have long used cocoa butter to alleviate and
help prevent the appearance of stretch marks. Stretch
marks are caused when the skin is stretched to the point
of breaking down, similar to elastic losing its
elasticity. When
our skins’ natural collagen and elastin fibers tear
due to rapid weight gain or growth, various conditions
occur such as stretch marks, loss of tone, fine lines
and wrinkles. When there is a breakdown or loss of
elastin and collagen fibers or excessive stretching in
the skin, the mark actually shows through to the
epidermis (top layer of skin).
The
first products developed in the Palmer’s Mother and
Baby range were Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage
Cream and Lotion for Stretch Marks. Both of these
products contain a unique blend of ingredients, cocoa
butter, vitamin E, collagen and elastin that each
provide a specific benefit in helping to prevent the
appearance of stretch marks.
COCOA
BUTTER
provides superior soothing properties and helps skin
retain its natural moisture.
VITAMIN E, a natural antioxidant, works with the
body’s own cells to protect it from the harsh elements
that cause rough, dry skin.
COLLAGEN and ELASTIN improve skin elasticity and
overall tone, suppleness and appearance of the skin.
Both the Massage Cream and the Massage Lotion for
Stretch Marks have been clinically proven to increase
skin’s elasticity, which helps prevent and reduce the
appearance of stretch marks.
Palmers
have continued to extend the Cocoa Butter Formula range
with more products that have been developed for the
specific needs of mothers including Soothing Oil for
Itchy Skin, Nursing Cream and Post-Natal Firming Lotion.
The
properties of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter are also effective
in gently moisturising the sensitive skin of babies and
products such as Nappy Ointment and Baby Butter Massage
Lotion are now available
